My name is Laura Cova and I am a licensed tourist guide for the province of Parma and the region Emilia-Romagna. I speak English and German.
I became a tourist guide because I am fascinated by the stories behind buildings, streets and squares, works of art and traditional food. I delight in studying the past and making history come alive for my guests.
I have been a licensed tourist guide for Parma and the surrounding area since 2003.
I am a member of Federagit Parma, an association of professional local guides.
I have always been interested in foreign languages, communication and cultural promotion. I love History and Art so learning for me is a passion, not only a professional requirement.
I was born in Milan where I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures and I worked in publishing and advertising. When I moved to Parma in 1989 I qualified as a secondary school teacher and I also teach English in state schools.
Since I became a tourist guide, I have guided a variety of groups and individual English-speaking tourists with different backgrounds, so I can create personal guided tours giving insight into the local culture, food and traditions.
I work with Sabrina Sirte.
